Irobot Roomba 692 Vacuum Cleaner Review
The Roomba 692 is a good value for budget-conscious users who want good cleaning performance without a steep price tag. This vacuum cleaner has WiFi connectivity, scheduled cleaning, basic navigation, and good suction. A potential disadvantage is that it uses a bristle-style brush roll (which may clog) and does not include digital mapping.

Product Build Quality:
The iRobot Roomba 692 is well-built. This unit is made of hard, dense plastic, but its drive and swivel wheels are rubber. Despite its matte plastic dustbin being somewhat fragile, this component feels sturdier than those of comparable robot vacuums.
You just need to plug in the dock station to set it up, and there’s no need to assemble it.
Product Design:
There is a sleek, modern aesthetic to the Roomba 692’s design. A simple silver Roomba logo sits atop a black body with rounded edges and an all-black body. When paired with the iRobot Home app, it can be controlled using a smartphone. Voice controls are also available when paired with AI devices like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
User Maintenance:
There are many parts on the iRobot Roomba 692 that have to be cleaned periodically.
- Dustbin: By pressing the release button, the dustbin can be removed. You should be careful when emptying it since its door opens toward you, so be careful not to spill anything over yourself. Every time you use it, you should empty it over a trash bin.
- Brushrolls: Remove the brushroll compartment door under the vacuum to access the bristle and beater brushrolls. Depending on whether you have pets, you should clean the brushes and their bearings once or twice a week. Pet hair tends to collect on them quite a bit, so you’ll have to clean them frequently.
- Filter: By pulling the release tabs inside the dustbin, you can remove the filter. If you have pets, you should tap it against the edge of a garbage can once or twice a week to dislodge any stuck-on debris. Empty the dustbin after removing it and cleaning it.
- Side brush: To remove the side brush, you need to unscrew it from the bottom of the vacuum. Once a month, you should remove any stuck-on debris and hair.
- Front wheel: Although you can pull the wheel out of the socket by hand, you might find that using a tool will make the process easier. Every two weeks, you should clean it of any stuck-on debris. In addition, make sure you remove any stuck-on debris from its socket so that it can spin freely.
- Sensors/Charging pads: A clean dry cloth should be used once a month to wipe down the sensors and charging pads on the vacuum and dock station.
Controls of Irobot Roomba 692:
In addition to digital controls, the vacuum cleaner also has a few physical ones. There are a number of control buttons on the top of the Roomba 692, including:
- Auto Clean: On/Off
- Return to charger
- Spot clean
The dust bin release button can also be found on the top of the vacuum, below the cleaning controls.

Those who want a robot vacuum that includes the following features should consider the Irobot Roomba 692.
- Wifi connectivity and app control: Using the iRobot app, you can control this vacuum from your smartphone. You can view past reports or schedule future cleaning cycles. Using the WiFi, you can also pair the vacuum with voice-control devices like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Easy usability: Due to its lack of bells and whistles, the Roomba 692 is easy to use. With the app, you can set up an auto-schedule or plug in the charger and press CLEAN. After cleaning the space, the robot vacuum returns to its charger.
- Excellent value: Another big plus for the Roomba 692 is its value. Having been an Amazon exclusive, the 692 has some new looks that we haven’t seen on the 600 Series Roombas before. Parts are readily available and the price is reasonable considering what you get.

It’s a go0d product throughly cleans floor and edges……Only one con…..It does not have laser mapping…. But for this reason only we want to keep it because we can keep it on bed ,on table top, on other places where cleaning is not proper
Starry Eyed Surprise –
A must have for cleanliness freaks, pet owners, families with kids, and busy professionals alike. What I like:1. Thoroughly cleans floors as well as carpets and adjusts automatically for any kind of surface. You can tell by the amount of dirt collected in the bin. Also catches hair fairly well.2. Spot cleaning is a blessing for minor accidents/spills around the house where you just want only certain areas to be cleaned. It can pick up items like chips, cookie bits and pieces and dirt equally well.3. It has sensors which don’t let it slide down the stairs and prevent any damage- Peace of mind for multiple level houses.4. It will go underneath your sofas and other furniture and places that are otherwise hard to reach for normal people (including maids ;-)5. WiFi feature adds an added benefit of letting you run the robot with the app or Voice enabled services such as Alexa/Google, etc. – Super convenient. You can even create schedules to run the vacuum automatically whenever it suits you.6. Once it’s done cleaning or the battery is running low – it will automatically go back to the docking station. Super cool!Things to keep in Mind:1. A bit of preparation is needed to keep items such as shoes, slippers and other things away from its path.2. Even though it won’t tangle on wires/cords, it’s still better to not have any obstruction.3. The floor shouldn’t be wet – this goes without saying! However, these things are not a big deal but just a heads up for people who are new to Roomba. What’s not to like:1. A virtual wall should be supplied in the box as it is a helpful thing to create barriers in the house. You need to purchase it separately or figure out other ways of stopping roomba from going into other rooms/areas you don’t want to be cleaned. This is not a big deal for small rooms/apartments but if you have a big house it is a must have.

Very good products.Easy to use it for cleaning floor.

Review after one week of use: It takes a v shape and cleans the room…goes to the sides and cleans. However it has its own pattern so if one can leave it and go it works on its own. If one want to supervise it one can create human barrier and let it clean part by part… it reaches everywhere even the sides…One star less for not being able to effectively cover the corners..Cleaning has become so hassle free now.

Noisy creates irritating noise

Designed in USA and made in China. Good for a small 2BHK flat.. runs about 1 hour 50 mins per full charge and then goes back to dock. Quite noisy (especially while attending online classes/meetings) compared to deebot 500 (another cheap Chinese alternative) and no suction power settings like latter. It misses few areas and repeats same areas, but manageable if using daily. Gets stuck at times in floor mats/carpets, otherwise carpet cleaning is fantastic. Google home integration works great. Support seems good and product registration was a breeze. Built is solid and parts also seems available that can be ordered online. Kind of random sweep and seems no special intelligence as such. Overall too pricey and not fully worth at this price when we look at Chinese designed and made alternatives (deebot, eufy) with more features and better intelligence. I will have to wait and see whether the price premium and tolerating the loud noise is worth it on the quality and support dimension fronts.

I was not a believer in robo vacuums. Now I’m an evangelist. Picks up hair, dust and other dirt effectively. Minor annoyance of having to pick it up and keep in some rooms where it doesn’t go. But I’d take that everyday when my other option is sweeping with a broom. Can skip on regular mopping as well because of good cleaning. At times goes full Austin Powers driving scene.

I used a much older version of Roomba, maybe ten years ago in the US. At that time, it was more of a novelty. It used to get stuck, and you have to block stairs to avoid falling, etc. This newer version is much improved and more intelligent. It can navigate obstacles in a pretty clever way and doesn’t need much handholding. My living room is so much cleaner that I can now walk barefoot without small tiny crumbs sticking to my feet. Highly recommended if you work at odd times and can’t have a maid.
