The body and lid of the Hawkins stainless steel pressure cooker are made from food grade, 18/8, non-magnetic stainless steel (AISI Grade 304). ’18/8′ indicates that this stainless steel grade contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel for superior anti-corrosion properties and greater resistance to acidic foods such as fruits, meat, milk, and vegetables. Thus, it is one of the best stainless steel grades for making cooking utensils.

- 5.8 mm Extra-thick, Heat-Diffusing Sandwich Bottom
Food-grade stainless steel is used on the pressure cooker body and lid for maximum hygiene and durability. An aluminium core of 4.1 mm thick is sandwiched between two sheets of stainless steel on the bottom of the pressure cooker, which spreads heat quickly and evenly. Therefore, there are no hotspots and the food won’t burn. Hawkins stainless steel pressure cookers can be used on both gas and induction cooktops due to the magnetic stainless steel external base. Not happy with the product. Has a tall design, which is a sheer failure…..The problem with tall design is, if you want to cook directly in the cooker ( i.e. pouring ingredients directly in the cooker and not in some small utensils) then the tall design makes it difficult to stir inside the vessel for avg height ppl. For eg giving tadka to khichdi…Other problem of the tall design is, uneven cooking when cooking directly, i.e. pouring ingredients directly in the cooker and not in some small utensils. The bottom and top portion of ingredient cooks more than the center.Its a sheer design engg failure !!!! Which i failed to figure out from pics before buying….Being heavy and tall makes it very very very difficult to scrub n wash…Am yet to test this cooker with ingredients kept in smaller utensils… But my major need was direct cooking of large quantity ingredients… Which fails here..A broader base would have made the cooker shorter and also the direct cooking wud have been even.No inside utensils provided with the cooker…. (Which i knew BTW)Have to manage with whatever is available at home… Thanks to this pandemic 🙄🙄

There is nothing that I don’t like about this pressure cooker.It’s heavy.It’s 100% stainless steel which is the biggest plus.The backlite handles are sturdy . I hope they gonna last as long as the cooker lasts ( wishfulThinking)My mother is so happy with it.Cooking & cleaning is all very easy.

It’s more rhan a year and this is what I’ve experienced.The inner lid is its biggest advantage, along with its sturdiness and good steel quality.However, its heavy weight is its biggest inconvenience. This weight is due to the compulsory induction bottom which I will never have any use but had no choice and so bought this cooker.

Totally waste of money,Hawkins doesn’t have that quality which Hawkins was named/famed years ago.Hawkins hard anodized are great but stainless steel ones are worst.regretful decision in buying this stainless steel,base got separated.food always burn inside.Hawkins should improve its quality,very disappointing,not at all good cooker.if u want cooker to last for years,best ones are Vinod stainless steel then Hawkins hard anodized then prestige hard anodized, both prestige and Hawkins steel cookers are wastage ,base come off,well hard anodized and stainless steel both are non toxic metals, I had hard anodized one that works well so I thought to give a try to stainless steel one but it’s useless

Good quality .handle is fixed to main body not screws work so loosening of handle screws like other brands is avoided.the reason I gave 4 star is I felt handle is little short to that weight(6litres).if not it is 5 stars one.good one tobuy.

Amazing built as always by Hawkins. Handle screws will not loosen up at all even after many years. That’s one of the reason make it different from other brands. It’s quality is very good. 100% satisfaction. I would definitely recommend Hawkins cooker Stainless Steel, hevibase aluminium, hard anodized. (For hard anodized cooker, don’t use separators for dal and rice. It will remove hard anodized coating upto the level of water we use in the bottom of cooker) You can use separators in stainless steel and aluminium cookers.

Very nice cooker . This is my second Hawkins stainless steel cooker purchase . Also have Hawkins triply steel kadhai and pan. Very much satisfied with Hawkins . The brand name really speaks . Regarding this 6 Ltr cooker it has around fifteen-twenty percent more height than my 4 Ltr Hawkins cooker . Else bottom diameter and cover lid is the same one as 4 Ltr ( wide cooker chosen ) . Only one thing need to mention that if you are using 6 Ltr cooker , due to increase in height you might have to adjust your overall height to saute your food inside the cooker . My height is 5 Ft 10 inch but had to struggle a bit to saute the food inside cooker . Not any defects with the cooker but it is because of 6 Ltr cooker dimensions . Though I love these 6 Ltr as well as 4 Ltr cooker . In fact using triply kadhai and pan for more than a year and they are also the excellent product. Very much satisfied.

Very sturdy, excellent quality steel and heavy weight. We are slowly doing away from aluminium utensils to steel, as cooking in aluminium is not good for health. This is the best pressure cooker so far.
