Bajaj Food Factory FX 11 600-Watt Food Processor Review

MY STORY:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI have a 5 year old mixer grinder from maharaja whiteline which was working quite good up to a few months back but started giving troubles lately. Frustrated from the repeated repairs I decided to move a step ahead and buy a new Food processor to get rid of the entire kitchen chorus once and for all but this was not an easy choice as mixer grinder being a high rpm speed device is not easy to club with low rpm speed chopping and shredding operations.Many great mixer grinders were available from Butterfly, Philips, Morphy Richards, Preethi etc. but all-in-one food processors from the same brand suffered from some or the other lacuna when it came to low rpm jobs like shredding, chopping etc. as per the youtube videos.No detailed correct information regarding the difference between the food processor and a mixer grinder was clearly available over the internet.It took me almost three months of research and dilemma collecting bit and pieces of information from the internet to finally zero upon a food processor which would take in account all my needs with both the functions being optimized to the best of both worlds.HOW TO DECIDE BETWEEN : A MIXER GRINDER AND A FOOD PROCESSOR?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxIn general perception a food processor is considered to be a super set of mixer grinder with way more additional functions but no one clearly talks of the shortcomings when a mixing grinding operation is clubbed with shredding and chopping functions.The correct information was so scarce over the internet that I had once decided to buy only a mixer grinder by Butterfly Matchless 750 Watt grinder owing to its superior built and exceptional looks. However, I could never lose the charm of having an option of shredding and chopping as well in case I felt to prepare a bowl of finger chips.To make things worse, often I could find 4 stars on amazon for most of the food processors, someone always had some problem with every model. Thus,the selection became all the more tedious.So again my search began and I finally locked on to the Bajaj FX 11 food factory. A tabulated form of my dilemma and research could be put forth as below:1.) Mixing and Grinding operations require a very high speed, High watt motor to provide the necessary torque to crush or mix. These speeds are in the range of 15000 to 20000 RPM (rotations per minute).2.) Operations like Chopping and shredding which is the main reason to move on to a food processor require a low speed (around 2000 to 5000 RPM), Low watt motor for efficient processing. Wattage may not be an issue even if its high but a high speed definitely makes a difference as at very high speeds you would find lumps of vegetables that are left behind, not chopped properly or irregular chopping.Thus a Food processor good at mixing grinding was not suitable for chopping-shredding or vice-versa.3.) Now, How to club and optimize the best of both worlds?? After a meticulous research, I found there was a way for it.Previously, Fed up with the inadequate details, I was planning to go for a Philips HL 1661 food processor based upon the positive brand reputation and sufficient positive reviews on amazon or other sites but in spite of it being built solidly, it came with too little attachments which were just not enough. Just as I was ready to give up, I read something-somewhere to deduce the information I wanted.I read that Food processors which have two different segments: one smaller diameter segment for mixing-grinding and the other larger diameter segment for Chopping-shredding is designed so, for a purpose.MOST IMPORTANT FACT:***********************************In a two segment food processor,a single motor drives both the mixer-grinder shaft and the chopping-shredding shaft via an internal belt but due to difference in diameters, by the time the smaller grinder shaft rotates twice or thrice the other section’s larger shaft rotates only once.Thus, the speed of the chopping shredding section is already reduced by a ratio of 2-3 when compared to speeds of mixer section. Further lower RPMs could be achieved additionally by the speed regulator given at the processing unit.4.) Once, I locked on to a two segment Food processor, the next features to look for were :a.) MOTOR POWER:*****************************Any power above 500 Watts is basically enough though activities like mixing grinding may require additional watts for better performance but it’s a complicated math because not only the power is important the design of the blades to utilize that power too is crucial.++ I chose to move with the 600 watt Bajaj FX-11 which I knew was decent enough if not the segment best for all the tasks required.b.) BRAND AND POSITIVE REVIEWS :***********************************************In a two segment Food processor I could find only a few brands like Inalsa, Bajaj, Prestige etc. with almost all having the similar share of positive and negative reviews.As a matter of fact all these brand have almost similar brand image as well.++ Bajaj felt better to me as it had a little more market penetration for service centres. Never-the-less, Every city has some reputed repair shops apart from the service centers, so not a crucial point to stick to.c.) BUILD, FINISH, CORD LENGTH AND DESIGN :************************************************************I needed the jars to made of polycarbonate at least, if not ABS or BPA free tritan. Also the grinding jars were supposed to be of quality stainless steel with an easy option to clean beneath blades.++ Of all the designs available in two segment Food processors, I liked the Bajaj Platini PX 80 F more but due to extremely negative reviews I was hesitant to buy it & went for the second best proven Bajaj FX 11.As a matter of fact though I do not like plain-jane white gadgets but then my options were limited due to design constraints. Inalsa’s design was not to my taste.It comes with decent quality poly carbonate and steel jars and the blades can be removed via the spanner slot in spatula to fully clean the jars.++ I won’t say the finish of the plastic or the blade attachments is among the best in the segment but it was decent enough. The gasket rubber lining below the jar lids too lacked finish at few places. Anyways nothing for a deal breaker though.Over all build quality is extremely decent with minor this & that in finishing but nothing too visible though.++ This FP comes with a 1 meter cord with a three pin plug rated at 6 amperes at 240 volts AC ie. The cord and plug can handle at max.1440 watts which is quite good as our machine is only rated at 600 Watts.d.) ATTACHMENTS AND FEATURES:******************************************** This is probably the most interesting part where we actually compare the value for the given money for any device.++ Our device comes with the following accessories and attachments:1. A 1.25 Liter polycarbonate Food processor bowl.2. A 1.25 Liter polycarbonate Liquidizing jar.3. A 1.0 Liter stainless steel dry & wet grinding jar.4. A 0.3 Liter stainless steel chutney jar.5. Processing Blades: A total of 14 attachments are included: Slicing blade, Shredding coarse & fine blade, finger chips blade, coconut shredder blade, kneading blade, chopping blade, Whisking blade, Grating liquidizing blade etc.6. Tools: Centrifugal juicer, citrus juicer and a spatula.++ The device can be operated 30 minutes continuously and there are 3 motor speed settings over the selector switch with additional pulse operation.e.) SAFETY FEATURES AND OVERLOAD PROTECTION :*********************************************************************It is expected for any reputed brand to always include features for human & machine safety and our product is no exception.++ This device comes with good vacuum suction pads which keep the machine firmly held to the floor even in high vibration during high speed operations.++ A red led besides the speed selector switch lights up when the device incoming power is switched ON.++ An overload protection relay switch is also included in the base to trip in case of excess load above 2.6 amps on the motor before its burning. Once tripped the latch comes out and can be reset manually after few minutes.++ Since it’s a multi section device, it comes with various interlocks where unless you cover up the grinder rotor assembly with the safety cover locked properly, the processing unit won’t work & vice versa.It is advised to use only one of the grinder or processor function,one at a time & never simultaneously.++ An included instruction manual explains the features & device functioning in detail with enough pictorial references.f.) NOISE,WEIGHT AND VIBRATIONS:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI haven’t heard to Philips or morphy Richards food processor but based upon a practical common sense I find the noise and vibrations in the bajaj FX 11 absolutely normal. Vibrations are minimum & the noise at the highest speed is loud but nothing abnormal or horrifying. It sounds as it should & is fine by me.The gross weight of the device is around 6.2 Kgs and with attachments is around 7.5 kgs.g.) PRICING AND WARRANTY:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI bought it for 5200 bucks and given the attachments and operations it can accomplish, I am sure it’s a fair deal.A Food Processor from philips would cost around 2 to 3 thousand bucks more for much lesser features & functions.As for the warranty, A 5 year warranty on motor & 2 years warranty on the device is offered which is very decent by segment standards.h.) PERFORMANCE :xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI haven’t yet tried all the attachments especially the juicer part & atta kneading but apart from that I have sample tested almost all tools and have found it to be very satisfactory.Will surely update, if things deviate from their supposed performances.FINAL VERDICT:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAll in all, from my perspective I am highly satisfied with the price vs quality vs performance of the device and in my view its quite a nice piece of food processor with efficient high speed Mixer-grinder operations as well as low speed food processing operations.However adding certain decent colors to it would have certainly enhanced its looks,never kind of liked an all white color.Was skeptical before the purchase due to few negative reviews but finally I am glad I took the leap.

its a blessing in kitchen. itd very useful and easy to use. instead of keeping different appliances its gud to use all in one product. its juicer, mixer, grinder, chopper, grater, atta maker, buteermilk maker. its the best. very compact just needs little space. it has lots of attachemntz and very gud results. i will recommend it to all
