Product Performance:
The Kuvings B1700 was simple to put together, thanks to the large red dot on each of the main parts that must be aligned for them to fit together correctly.
First, we put the juicer to the test with a mixed green juice, which included celery, ginger, broccoli, parsley, apple, and pear, as well as other tough and fibrous ingredients. To fit comfortably into the feed chute, we chopped the apple and pear into quarters, but we left the celery stalks whole, and it juiced everything with ease. When we disassembled it, we discovered a large piece of apple skin clogging the auger (the component that grinds the fruit and vegetables).
Having said that, it converted 663g of whole fruit and vegetables into 467ml of juice, a 70 percent yield. The juice had a very thin layer of froth on top and a slightly grainy texture from very fine pieces of pulp that had gotten through the strainer.
Next, we made orange juice, but first we had to peel and segment the fruits before juicing them in this machine. When compared to other cold press juicers and centrifugal juicers we tested, the B1700 produced froth-free orange juice with a yield of nearly 78 percent. The juice was not completely smooth, as it contained a small amount of fine pulp. But overall a very good result in terms of Performance of this Kuvings B1700 Cold Press Slow Juicer.

The only positive aspects is the sleek model and almost no noiseI bought the machine but initiated the return after first juicing (carrot beetroot)for the following reasons1.The pulp was not dry it still had a lot of juice in it2.cleaning is very tedious plus there are some unreachable areas3.juice quantity very less4.therevis no scientific test available as of now about the nutritional value of slow juicers,it’s just claims by the manufacturers

I was impressed Hestia description and Ratings and I bought hestia Slow juicer. Some parts was broken in the Juicer, and then I came to know about the poor built quality of the HESTIA juicer. The hestia juicer are made in Maharastra , but the seller claims to be made in Korea. Then I had returned the product and Purchased KUVINGS juice, I made a right move here. I was impressed with the good built quality of the machine. The additional cleaning tool is awesome, This makes cleaning simpler.Every thing is fine in Kuving Juicer, I am using it for past one month. The machine works without any problem.Since I had bought Hestia first, I had an opportunity to compare both the machines.I work in quality dept in Automobile sector. Believe me, HESTISA is poor copy of Kuvings and Hurom. These difference may not be understood easily. After using it for few months, you many note the difference in quality.I am happy, I have made a correct decision by selecting Kuvings Juicer.

After surfing through all options for a slow juicer to take control of my health through juicing, we purchased this model Kuvings. This model has four very good qualities that make it a great juicer and the reason I gave it five stars:1. Easy to Clean – After using Philps and tried hestia (my friends) i was worried that dis-assembling, cleaning and assembling is going to be a touch one, but Kuvings model comes apart easily in 10 seconds making it super easy to clean with nothing more than a rinse of water. It also comes with a special brush to clean the strainer, without which the process would have been hell.2. Extracts almost every water content of the fruit or vegetable. The most important the benefits of juicing is getting nutrients (not just having great tasting thirst quenching juices, get a simple juicer for that), you want a juicer that extracts as much of them as possible. The pulp that is left over is bone dry, indicating that this model extracts most of the water content as it claims. We often also use the pulp3. XL Feed tube. This one comes with a more than enough wide XL tube which will help you to fit in almost all vegetables with having to cut them into tiny little pieces. Watch out for touch skinned fruits/vegetables, you might have to spend some effort to make sure those ling pieces of hard skins do not get struck.4. Durability: Its NOT made of some cheap plastic, this is pretty heavy. Most of the juicers i had before were somewhat delicate and i always feel that they are going to break at some point. The solid outer body will make it easier to use.Since juicing just over 30 days ago, I have lost 3 kg and I have not been hungry, cranky, or having cravings of any type. In fact if you follow the diet for a week, your will not feel hungry at all. One of the best combo is Apple with Carrot and Pomegranate with Beetroot.Never in my life i thought i will have beetroot in a juice.I’ll post another update after 6 months.

I already had a Morphy Richards centrifugal juicer which had its share of issues which I believe most of the centrifugal juicers will have. The major ones being1. The extraction was sub-optimal. There was always a lot of juice left in the pulp especially for soft fruits like apples.2. Cleaning the juicer was a tough task.Actually, the very thought of cleaning the juicer parts of the centrifugal made me weary of juicing and I found myself relying more and more on cold-pressed juices from Raw Pressery. It was around that time that I came across Cold Pressed juicers from Kuvings. The Diwali sale presented the perfect opportunity and I took the dive. All the positive things other reviewers have written were found to be true. This thing is built to last, you can feel the quality of the material the moment you hold it. Assembling or taking it apart it is a very easy and the best part is cleaning it – with the supplied brush/tool, the otherwise dreaded task of cleaning the juice strainer can be accomplished well under a minute. Other parts can be cleaned just by holding them under a running tap.As for the performance, I have tried juicing the following items1. Carrots2. Beetroots3. Sweet lime4. Oranges5. Apples6. Spinach/Corriander/Mint7. Pomegranates8. Tomatoes9. AmlaI have also extracted almond juice. With all of these, the juicer does a phenomenal work. The resulting pulp is extremely dry. I have attached a photo of the pulp that gets generated for various fruits. The juice produced by the juicer does have a bit of pulp in it but I like it that way as it adds a bit of fiber which otherwise will get lost. If you prefer your juice with minimal pulp pulp then you may have to further filter it using a fine sieve. Thanks to the slow masticating extraction, the juice tastes better and stays that way for long. This was not the case with the juice extracted using the centrifugal juicer.Initially, I was apprehensive of the juicer being big in size but it turned out that the Kuvings juicer actually has a smaller footprint when compared to my centrifugal juicer.Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and find myself juicing every alternate day.

Bottomline: It’s a great product which juices very well. I’ve used it for more than two weeks now and here’s my feedback.Items juicedFruits: apple, orange, tangerine, pineapple, pear, pomegranate, watermelon along with its rind(green shell); All came out very well.Vegetables: Carrots, beetroot, cucumber, bottle gourd, spinach, coriander, mint, tomato, turmeric, ginger, lemon, basil, cabbage, red-cabbage; All came out very well.Sprouts: green grams, chickpeas; Both came out very well.OutputThe very first time I juiced, it was a complete cocktail of vegetables and fruits. The output was almost 70%, 1.4 kg or approx. 1.4 litre on an average comes out of 2 kg raw material in a vegetable cocktail done by a fresher. Since then, I’ve seen a range of output, from 70% to 80%. Quality of juice is really amazing. Level of froth generation is minimum. Aeration of the juice is minimum, leading to very low oxidation, and hence a longer shelf life of the product, at least a few hours. The taste is very good. The pulp is quite dry and is mostly fibre, although sometimes I feel that a few drops are going waste in the pulp, which can probably be squeezed using some device. However, when I see the juice output of more than 1 litre, I don’t worry much about those few wasted drops. The juice is actually normal in temperature, it’s not even warm from the operation.CleaningThe parts can be cleaned in under five minutes. The strainer cleaning accessory is the most useful item in the box for cleaning, and it has to be used after every use without fail. The brush is also designed uniquely to clean the crevices of strainer and other parts properly. Cleaning is not messy. However, remember to clean all 5 parts immediately after juicing operation for this 5-minute claim to hold true.Power cordThe power cord is meant for a 16 Amps socket (power point, in lay man terms), therefore, either use a wall socket or get a 16A extension (I’m using the extension where I live these days).DurabilityThe machine chops off everything into little pieces and ultimately into a paste using the nicely designed augur and steel strainer. Although it makes some sound when the hard items are masticated, it feels that the product will last a long time. Fingers crossed here.Method of juicingThe most important aspect of this vertical masticating machine is the process of juicing. The operator needs to alternate between soft and hard items when juicing a cocktail of vegetables, for improving output ratio. This comes with experience, and also after viewing some youtube videos out there. Just type the model number on youtube and search. For more videos, search for vertical slow juicer on youtube. Also, the claim of the machine for being “whole slow juicer” is quite close to real. I’ve put whole raw material of everything that could fit into the chute, and it works. The exceptions are long fibrous substances, such as greens (spinach, coriander, mint), which I definitely cut into small pieces before dropping down the chute. This prevents the fibres from clogging the interiors and I can prolong the extraction time without cleaning the strainer. Also, after having tested the machine with whole raw materials, I actually cut the thick ugly looking carrots and beetroot before dropping down the chute, just to treat the machine with some love and care. Do not forget that it cost a bomb for a juicer by any Indian middle class standard, to spend 20K in a country where the most expensive centrifugal juicer costs under 6 or 7K. So despite the claim of being a “whole juicer”, the really big and hard items I’m chopping up. Also, when you purchase raw material, choose the hardest and freshest of the veggies, not the wilting and withering ones. The harder and fresher the raw material, higher is the efficiency and output of the machine. Store juices only in glass bottles, and never ever in plastic.AccessoriesI purchased the smoothie strainer in addition to the juicing strainer. However, because of almost negligible instruction videos out there, haven’t been able to use it even once. Kuvings needs to put out more videos on youtube, and also detailed description and usage instructions for the smoothie strainer. There is some instruction available though, I’ll try it when I find some leisure time I guess.SummaryI’m using this juicer three times daily. Early morning fruit juice – pineapple or watermelon – watermelon gives almost 80% output. Vegetable juice cocktail for my lunch, which I prepare in the morning itself and store in a glass bottle and carry to office – 1.4 kg or approx. 1.4 litre on an average comes out of 2 kg raw material. Evening quick juice using just one or two veggies. Total time taken for juicing 2 kg raw material is less than 15 minutes, then cleaning takes another 5 minutes, preparation time can be around 15 minutes or more depending on the quality of raw material. This is a very good product, which I’ve been trying to buy for more than 2 years, and finally got one. After ServiceI sent a message to Kuvings service centre, and they made it a point to call back at the earliest to resolve my query. It seems they’re sure of what they’re doing. Not all after sales service in India are convenient.

I wanted to buy a good healthy juicer for my parents, so I decided to buy a cold pressed/slow juicer instead of centrifugal one. Considering its high price I took some time to research about it and shortlisted few: Panasonic MJ-L500 (brand and price), Hurom HN series (brand and quality, though out of my budget), Hestia Nutri max (price and wide feeding tube), Havells (price, brand) and Kuvings (Price, good design, wide feeding tube). While finalizing Kuvings slow juicer, I was quite skeptical as I had not heard about this brand in Indian market. So I called Kuvings customer care and asked few doubts, then somehow I felt confident to buy it. When I received the juicer, I fell in love with it. The pearl white colour is elegant and the juicer’s size is smaller than I thought. So its quite a cute, compact and beautiful juicer. It almost a silent juicer. The juices I tried were quite tasty, though the pulp was slightly moist.Kuvings juicer came with an interesting recipe book. I wish Kuvings juicer also included ice-cream attachment and smoothie attachment like other competitor juicers in which they are included in this price.I wish Kuvings had a ‘pulp controller lever’ which Hurom juicers have. The lever has levels to control amount of pulp you want to keep in your juice. I feel its helpful as more the pulp in juice, more the fibers and healthier the juice is.Overall satisfied 🙂
