Faber 60 cm 1500 m³/hr Auto Clean Chimney Review
Faber Auto Clean Chimney Review
This Faber 60 cm HOOD PRIMUS PLUS ENERGY HC SC BK 60 Auto Clean kitchen chimney is one of the best-selling Chimneys on Amazon. It deservers to be one of the best sellers because of its efficient performance even after size reduction, and at a much lower price. This compact kitchen chimney is best suited for smaller kitchens, but with a suction capacity of 1500 m3/hr, it can also be used in larger kitchens.
When it comes to removing oil and odors from your kitchen, it performs just as well as its larger counterpart. In addition to the high suction power, it has a baffle filter, which improves the purification performance even more. These baffle filters are superior to standard mesh filters in terms of performance and durability, and will last a long time.
Cleaning kitchen chimneys can be a pain, so to make life hassle-free Faber has included new age heat auto clean technology in this chimney, reducing your cleaning time to a bare minimum. The auto cleaning process, which uses a heating element to remove all trapped oil and grease particles inside the chimney, can be started with the push of a button. After that, the oil is collected in the oil collector provided below. The oil collector is simple to clean and reuse before it needs to be replaced. The use of this auto-clean feature is extremely convenient.
Even the addition of LED lamps provides just the right amount of lighting for you to cook at night without disturbing others. The disturbance is also mitigated by low-noise performance. Unlike other chimneys, this one produces almost no noise at 58 dB, making it ideal for kitchen hoods.
To increase the device’s convenience level, it includes a touch control panel that allows you to easily access all of the chimney features. It also gives the chimney a sleek appearance. Furthermore, the product’s elegant design and sturdy construction ensure that it will last a long time without going out of style after a few years of use.
Furthermore, a one-year warranty on the product and a five-year warranty on the motor ensure the product’s quality. It also ensures that the chimney remains in good working order even after extended use. So, if you want a high suction capacity kitchen chimney at a reasonable price, this one from Faber should be at the top of your list.

A good product for the price point, I was looking for maximum suction power and this one was my model of choice. Chose the Touch Control over the Sensor-based model from a long term use point of view. The touch model is also cheaper by 2000 rupees. The installation was quick, took under 20 minutes (I already had a chimney installed, which was retired). The engineer was knowledgeable and efficient. The chimney also offers an auto turn off mode, which can be set up. This turns off the chimney after a certain period of time (1,2, 3 minutes later, and so on). This helps the balance air to be sucked out and you don’t need to wait in the kitchen to turn off the chimney. Even the light is auto turned off with this feature.Cons1) The foil type duct pipe supplied by Faber is useless and very fragile, even their own engineers are not in favor of using it. Not sure why you will hurt your own brand image by adding something which is cheap and not usable? I had a pipe from the previous setup installed, else you will need to be a 6-inch dia pipe separately if you want a sturdier setup. Costs another 1000-1200 bucks.2) The panel, being black and glass is a fingerprint magnet. Needs constant wiping.3) The 5 year warranty on the motor only gets activated if you get the chimney serviced by Faber twice in the first year. Each service costs 950 or you can take an AMC for 1350. If you don’t do this, then the warranty on both the chimney and motor will only last a year. This should be part of the information shared by the seller as it adds to the cost of ownership.

Had the installation done today, 2 days after the product was delivered. Which is quick considering other reviews.PRODUCTThe chimney looks great, and fits the space between my pre-fit cabinets perfectly. Please not that it comes along with an aluminium pipe 6″ in diameter but this is NOT the duct pipe. This just fits the outlet at the top of the chimney. The technician will bring another pipe, which is the actual duct pipe, 5″ in diameter and harder than the one provided with the chimney. Both of these would then be taped together.Since I just got it installed, I am not sure how efficiently it would work, so would update my review some time later.INSTALLATION:The visiting technician Yogesh (Aarav Enterprises) got the job done successfully within 20 minutes and I’m satisfied with the installation. The only shortcoming was that these agencies, or Faber as a matter, doesn’t provide clamps for holding the duct against the wall, so it would just be resting on top of your cabinet, unless you purchase them locally and get them fitted. So 1 star removed for this and for improper clarity on the duct pipe provided. But thats on Amazon/Faber, Yogesh was good.He then proceeded to show the functions of the chimney and how to clean the filters.Upon probing further, Yogesh informed that this was a good model especially for Indian cooking, so happy to know the choice I made was good.NOISE:I have never had a kitchen with chimney before, and reading the reviews was concerned about the noise. Most of the reviews said the chimney was too loud and they cannot talk on the phone while in the kitchen. To my surprise, it was NOTHING like that. Even at the highest setting, the noise is OK, especially considering the rated suction capacity. How good it performs is something I would update after some weeks of use.For now, I would say, go ahead and buy it if the budget and dimensions allow.

UPDATE: After the review was posted online and emailed to the board of directors at Franke, the senior technician came back and redid the job thoroughly. He even cleaned up properly after himself. I am now delighted with the service.I bought this online on Amazon. Delivered wonderfully. Two days later a technician came to install it. He said my old chimney had a 4 inch vent, this one needed a 6 inch. So a flurry of phone calls started where he recommended a number of people who would drill the hole for the princely sum of 2200/-. Then he slapped me with a 650 rupee bill for uninstalling the old chimney (he basically just yanked it out) and marking for the drilling. The drilling guys come on a Sunday morning; we remove half of the products in the kitchen, cover the rest and they say it is installed correctly. see photo to understand how clean the installation was! They said they will not put white cement on the wall after the vent in installed!! Apparently that is someone else’s job… Faber will only come and hold the chimney in place. to top it off he brought another aluminium pipe for 500 rupees and said that the company pipe will last for just 3 months!!! So better I get this one fitted!! I called the call center and they concurred!!So Faber delivers a terrible product with a pipe in box that will last just 3 months, also, installation means he will just put it up in place and you need to go out and buy cement to coat your exterior wall… if water comes in, its not a Faber problem!!Lousy product, lousy service, lousy installation, and lousy support! I buy over 2 lakhs worth of goods on Amazon every year but this is the worst I have ever seen.
