How to clean your Juicer? 6 Easy Steps Guide

No matter how often you juice or how hard-core you are, your juicing machine provides you with a healthy serving of fresh fruits and vegetables. Despite its health-giving properties, this piece of equipment can develop some unhealthy brownish gunk within a few uses.

Looking for a quick and easy way to clean your juicer? Take a look at these tips, and you’ll enjoy juicing without the gunk.

How often should you clean your juicer?

Yes, you need to clean your juicer after every use, unless you like drinking fermented fruits and vegetables.

Foodborne illnesses can begin to develop very quickly when remnants of juice and pulp left behind in your juicer are left at room temperature.

By cleaning regularly, you will reduce the risk of illness, and you will never drink juice contaminated with furry brown slime.

It might feel like cleaning after juicing takes longer than the actual juicing since some juicers are complicated beasts. Fortunately, many parts of a juicer can be cleaned in the dishwasher. It’s that easy. Pop ’em in, and they’ll be ready for tomorrow’s juice.

You can reach parts that aren’t supposed to get wet or that need hand washing with a few pantry items.

When it comes to cleaning a juicer, what do you use?

Here are 6 simple steps to cleaning your juicer

  1. Step 1: Unplug and disassemble the juicer

First and foremost, safety! Before cleaning the juicer, turn it off and unplug it. Remove the strainer, grinder, lid, and plunger from the juice and pulp containers. Place the food particles in your compost bin after scraping out the pulp container with a spatula or clean rag.

  2. Step 2: Make sure the juicer components are soaked

Put your juicer’s components in a sink filled with warm water and a few drops of your preferred dish liquid. In a bowl of soapy water, soak the pieces for a few minutes. Regardless of whether you choose to clean your components in the dishwasher, you should still give them a thorough rinse first.

  3. Step 3: Gently wash

After soaking for 10 minutes or so, give each piece a gentle scrub with a soft-bristled scrub brush. You can reach tight crevices and inside complex components with a toothbrush or bottle brush.

  4. Step 4: Scrub away stains

Baking soda works wonders on tough stains for increased scrubbing power! Use a soft cloth dampened with water and vinegar to scrub the discolored area. If the juicer doesn’t rinse clean, apply a healthy sprinkle of baking soda and let it sit for half an hour. After rinsing, scrub with a cloth dipped in vinegar.

  5. Step 5: Clean the juicer base

Clean the juicer’s base with a microfiber cloth – Why microfiber? It can be dampened with water or a bit of cleaning vinegar. Use a clean towel to dry it. Never submerge the machine’s base in water since it contains the electric components.

  6. Step 6: Reassemble the juicer

Put your juicer back together after everything has been cleaned and dried. Assemble the juice and pulp containers, then the strainer, grinder, lid, and plunger.

The juicer is now squeaky clean, so it’s time to juice! Throughout the process, remember that prompt cleaning will make a world of difference in the amount of grime you end up cleaning.

The pulp and juice from fresh fruits and vegetables wash away easily with warm water, so if you can’t wash right away, at least give it a good rinse after juicing.
